As a volunteer firefighter with MVFD, you’ll be part of a team that proudly serves Metamora and provides mutual aid to surrounding areas like Laurel, Batesville, and Brookville. From structure fires and vehicle extrications to water rescues and search efforts, we respond with courage, commitment, and care.

Whether you’re experienced or brand new to firefighting, we welcome individuals with a strong heart, a steady hand, and a desire to protect and serve. We provide the training, the tools, and the mentorship—what you bring is the dedication.

Since 1972, our department has stood as a pillar of strength and support for our community. We’re more than a firehouse—we’re a family, united by a common goal: to safeguard the people and places we call home.
